What A Morning

Quote of the Day: "The brain is a wonderful organ. It starts working the moment you get up in the morning and does not stop until you get into the office." -Robert Frost

It's only 8:45 in the morning, but my day has already been going all wrong. Today, there are Entrance Exams, so all of our students are gone, vut those students who are applying are here taking tests. In March, there will be almost one entire week of Entrance Exams, but I think that these kids are the ones that were recommended or something like that. I really don't understand the system.

Anyway, I wanted to leave the house pretty early and look respectable. I put on my cute, but professional skirt, got on my bike and left the house a little behind schedule. As I was getting nearer to the school, my long scarf got stuck on the pedals area thing. Ahhhhh! I only realized it when my neck was suddenly being pushed down and tightened. I got off the bike and got the scarf out, but as I was doing this, I got a huge rip in my stockings. It's like thigh to foot and it is getting worse by the minute.

I arrived in the office and a meeting began. Today for the first time, they took attendance at the meeting. They never really acknowledge me, so I didn't really pay much attention. When the Vice-Principal called my name, I responded with a "Hmmmm?", which made all of the other teachers laugh. The teacher next to me was like, "say Hai". lol. It was so embarrassing, but I'm getting use to making office mistakes. Ahhhhh, I just need to lay low today and hope no one notices how completely in disarray I am.

Dragon Ball Evolution

Hey Everyone,

So, more Dragon Ball Evolution stuff was released yesterday. A new French trailer came out and a short Japanese TV spot.

I'm still not too optimistic about these movies. I hope that they prove me wrong.
I don't even know when it's being released here. lol.

The Importance of Teaching Grammar

Quote of the day:

"If you only read the books that everyone else is reading, you can only think what everyone else is thinking"- Haruki Murakami

Hey Everyone,

I'm an assistant English teacher in Japan and yesterday I actually re-contracted for another year. It was a hard decision to make. I stared at the paper for a long time and I even called home. In the end, I decided to do it. Woohoo!!! I enjoy living and working here, so why not do it for another year, right? However, signing those papers was still a bit nerve wrecking. Sometimes it's hard to live far from my family, but I also really like it here. I can't believe that I have actually done it. Whoah!

I was pretty excited today because I found out that most of my close friends here are either re-contracting for another year or they are staying in the country to do grad school. Yay!

Since, I teach grammar, I thought that this Chelsea Handler clip was both appropriate and awesome. Enjoy!!!
